The Carter Center

The Carter Center, founded in 1982 by former US President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, works to advance peace and health worldwide. Its peace programmes focus on election observation, conflict resolution and mediation, human rights and rule of law, guided by the principle of waging peace, fighting disease and building hope.
