MA in Peace and Development Studies. Haramaya University's Institute of Peace and Development Studies, in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities in eastern Ethiopia, offers a two-year MA in Peace and Development Studies open to graduates of any discipline, alongside a PhD in the same field. Its curricula were revised in a partnership with the University of Innsbruck's peace studies programme.

 

Mekelle University

MA in Peace and Conflict Studies. The College of Law and Governance at Mekelle University in Tigray, Ethiopia, offers a two-year MA in Peace and Conflict Studies: a year of coursework followed by a year dedicated to the thesis. The multidisciplinary curriculum combines peace and conflict theory, research methods and conflict transformation with human rights, identity politics in Africa, sustainable development, gender and environmental conflict. The university also runs a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies focused on Ethiopia, the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.
