These terms of use apply to peaceresearch.institute (“the website”), an initiative of the European Peace Research Association (EuPRA). By using the website you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
1. About the website
The website is a free, non-profit directory of peace research institutes, peace and conflict journals, peace studies programmes and student theses. Its purpose is to make the field of peace research easier to discover. It is operated by:
European Peace Research Association (EuPRA)
Tampere University
Kalevantie 5, Linna 6072

2. Use of the website
You may use the website free of charge for research, study, teaching and other lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- use the website in a way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or editor accounts, or disrupt its operation;
- copy the website’s content in bulk by automated means (scraping) in a way that places an unreasonable load on the website, or republish the directory as a whole as your own service;
- submit false, misleading, offensive or spam content through our forms.
3. Content and intellectual property
The texts, selection and arrangement of the directory, and the design of the website are © EuPRA unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote and link to individual pages for non-commercial purposes with a clear reference to peaceresearch.institute as the source.
Names, logos, journal covers and descriptions of institutes, journals, universities and programmes belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify them. Their use does not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, EuPRA.
If you are a rights holder and believe material on the website should be corrected or removed, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
4. Submissions
You can suggest resources and submit theses through the forms on the website. By submitting, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- for a thesis, you are its author, or are authorised by the author, and that publishing its title, abstract and links does not infringe anyone’s rights;
- you grant EuPRA a free, non-exclusive permission to publish, edit for clarity and format, and display the submitted listing on the website.
Copyright in your thesis itself stays with you. We only publish a listing and link to it. We may accept, edit or decline any submission at our discretion, and you may ask us to remove a published listing at any time. How we handle the personal data in submissions is explained in the Privacy policy.
5. Accuracy and external links
We try to keep the directory accurate and up to date, but the information is provided “as is”, for general information only. Details such as programme contents, admission requirements, fees and deadlines can change; always check with the institution concerned before relying on them.
The website links to many external websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link does not mean we endorse the linked site.
6. Limitation of liability
The website is provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, EuPRA is not liable for any damage resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the website or the information on it, or from relying on external websites linked from it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
7. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the website at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes will be settled by the competent court of Finland, without prejudice to any mandatory right a consumer has to bring proceedings in the courts of their own country of residence.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
